SALARY:                      SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE BASED ON FY2027 SALARY SCALE 

LOCATION:                  BRUNSWICK EDUCATION CENTER

START DATE:               IMMEDIATELY

Job Description: The candidate for this position will prepare and deliver high school equivalency instruction to students enrolled in the Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) program and eligible learners in the assigned jail education program. This candidate will be responsible for teaching Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies in preparation for the GED test. The candidate will deliver engaging, individualized instruction through classroom activities, small-group instruction, approved online learning platforms, test-preparation activities, career-readiness experiences, and other appropriate learning opportunities. The candidate will develop weekly lesson plans, assess student performance and progress, maintain required records, meet with administrators, parents, correctional-facility staff, and other authorized stakeholders as needed, and provide additional support to students who require academic assistance in GED subject areas.

 

Direct Accountability and Reporting: Works under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Principal or designee, who is responsible for carrying out the daily operations of the program. The teacher will also comply with the operational and security procedures of the assigned correctional facility. An annual evaluation will be based upon the job description, division and personal goals and objectives specific to the position, and the performance of the teacher.
