Direct Accountability and Report
Works under the supervision of the School Principal or Department Supervisor, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school or assigned department. The Substitute Clerical employee is responsible for providing administrative and office support during the absence of regular staff. An annual classified evaluation will be based on the job description, division and personal goals and objectives specific to the position, and the performance of the Substitute Clerical employee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Prior clerical, administrative, customer service, or office experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check, and any other pre-employment screenings required by Brunswick County Public Schools.
- Complete required Brunswick County Public Schools substitute training.
- Complete and sign the Brunswick County Public Schools Substitute Employee Agreement prior to accepting substitute assignments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform general clerical and office support duties as assigned.
- Answer telephones, greet visitors, and provide courteous customer service to students, staff, parents, and the public.
- Maintain confidentiality of student, personnel, and division information.
- Prepare, file, copy, scan, and distribute documents and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records and perform data entry as assigned.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and telephones.
- Follow school and division procedures, policies, and administrative directives.
- Assist with student attendance, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and other office operations as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Department Supervisor.
