 Job Description:

The candidate for this position will serve as the primary contact for addressing student discipline.  The candidate will also serve as the main contact in the planning, coordination, and administration of school activities and essential programs. The candidate for this position should be passionate about supporting students, able to adapt to changes, and able to cultivate productive relationships with all members of the school community, including faculty, students, and families. 

Direct Accountability and Report: Works under the supervision of the school principal who is responsible for the guidance and direction of Totaro Elementary School.  An annual evaluation will be based upon the job description, district and personal goals as well as objectives specific to the school or the position.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision or be eligible for one

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years successful full time teaching experience required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, and creative school culture.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students.
  • Serve as a point person for student discipline. 
  • Assist teachers, students, and parents in the effective creation and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Be highly present and visible throughout classrooms and hallways during the day to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture.
  • Lead breakfast, lunch/recess, dismissal, and other transitional experiences and whole-school operations.
  • Reinforce the effective use of the school-wide behavior plan.
  • Aid teachers to improve their instructional practice, especially as it relates to issues of discipline, relationships with students, and school culture.
  • Integrate innovative instructional techniques to benefit student performance and development of the reading/math curriculum.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.
  • Assist in designing and executing parent workshops.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment.
  • Demonstrate a tremendous ability to be flexible and modify plans in order to best serve students.
  • Demonstrate a passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
  • Demonstrate success in raising the achievement levels of students.

Primary Location:  Totaro Elementary

Salary Range: $58,378 - $83,330 based on verified experience
